Al-Hawilli: Reviewing emergency plans and raising readiness levels to deal with new developments

Faisal Matar: Minister of Social Affairs, Family, and Child Development, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwaili, emphasized the need for continuous review of emergency plans and raising the level of preparedness to respond to new developments. This came during her inspection visit to the Al-Sabahiyah Center for Care and Rehabilitation of Persons with Disabilities, under the Public Authority for Persons with Disabilities, as part of monitoring the repercussions of recent security developments, ensuring the safety of residents and staff, and confirming the center’s readiness and emergency response plans. During the visit, the minister reviewed the conditions of the residents, inspected various facilities at the center, and assessed the quality of health and social care provided to them. She also monitored the readiness of shelters, evacuation and emergency plans, and implemented precautionary measures to ensure the highest levels of protection and safety for residents and staff. Dr. Al-Huwaili affirmed that the safety of persons with disabilities is a top priority, and that the Ministry and the Public Authority for Persons with Disabilities are monitoring the situation in all care centers around the clock to ensure their readiness and continued delivery of services with efficiency. She stressed the importance of continuously reviewing emergency plans and enhancing preparedness to address any new developments.
