Minister of Electricity Inspects the Accident Site at the Power and Water Desalination Plant
The Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, Dr. Subaih Al-Mukhaim, conducted an inspection visit to the site of the incident at the power and desalination plant, to assess in person the damage caused by the blatant attack, monitor the progress of response and emergency operations, and review the technical measures taken to contain its repercussions.
In a press statement on Friday, the ministry said that Minister Al-Mukhaim listened to a detailed technical briefing during the visit, which was accompanied by the Governor of Ahmadi, Sheikh Hamad Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and the ministry’s Undersecretary, Dr. Adel Al-Zamil, regarding the nature of the damages and the urgent measures taken from the first moments of the incident.
The statement added that Al-Mukhaim heard about the ongoing rehabilitation and repair plans to restore the damaged units to service in accordance with the highest standards of efficiency and safety, and closely observed the efforts of security, safety, fire-fighting teams, and the engineering and technical personnel working at the site.
He praised the rapid response and high competence demonstrated by the field teams, as well as their continuous round-the-clock efforts to restore normal conditions as quickly as possible. He emphasized that the ministry is operating at full capacity, deploying all its technical and human resources in coordination with relevant authorities to ensure the continuity of electricity and water production and to mitigate any potential repercussions of the incident, commending the dedication and professionalism of the workers in fulfilling their national duty.
The statement noted that the minister directed the continuation of assessment and repair works in accordance with the highest quality and safety standards, with ongoing close field monitoring and acceleration of operations to address all consequences of the incident and restore the damaged units to their normal operational status.
