Trump considers launching a broad attack on Iran

Axios reported that U.S. officials said the Trump administration informed Tel Aviv that it would send dozens of additional refueling aircraft to the country ahead of a potential expansion of military operations against Iran. The officials added that this comes after several new military plans were presented to Trump during a Situation Room meeting on Tuesday. They noted that Trump is considering launching a large-scale attack on Iran that would be broader in scope than the current strikes around the Strait of Hormuz. Among the options under consideration are bombing Iranian infrastructure facilities, such as power plants; conducting further attacks on Iranian nuclear sites to bury enriched uranium deeper underground; and striking the underground Mount Falas site, suspected to be a facility under construction. Axios clarified that Trump has not yet made a final decision, but appears prepared to escalate the war to inflict sufficient damage that would compel the Iranian regime to open the Strait of Hormuz and accept Trump’s nuclear demands.
