Greek President: Kuwait's policy is based on peace... Iranian attacks are a threat to security
Kuwait’s Ambassador to the Hellenic Republic, Mohammed Al-Roumi, presented his credentials as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the President of the Hellenic Republic, Konstantinos Tassoulas, today (Thursday) in a formal ceremony held at the Presidential Mansion.
In a statement received by KUNA, the Kuwaiti Embassy in Athens said that Ambassador Al-Roumi conveyed the greetings of His Highness the Amir, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, to the President of the Hellenic Republic, along with their best wishes for his health and well-being, and for the friendly Hellenic Republic and its people, for continued progress and prosperity.
For his part, the President of the Hellenic Republic requested that his greetings be conveyed to His Highness the Amir and His Highness the Crown Prince, expressing his wishes for Ambassador Al-Roumi’s success and effectiveness in carrying out his duties.
President Tassoulas emphasized Greece’s commitment to continuing to strengthen friendship and cooperation relations with Kuwait in various fields, in a manner that serves the common interests of the two friendly countries. He expressed the readiness of Greek authorities to provide all necessary support and facilitation to ensure the success of the diplomatic mission and to enhance bilateral cooperation ties.
Regarding Iranian attacks, the statement noted that the Greek President also expressed his strong condemnation of the Iranian attacks targeting Gulf countries, with Kuwait at the forefront. He affirmed that these countries pursue policies based on peace and respect for international law, and that these attacks constitute a blatant violation of international law and a threat to the security and stability of the region.
According to the statement, Ambassador Al-Roumi expressed his deep pride in representing Kuwait in the Hellenic Republic, praising the close and firm relations between the two friendly countries, which are rooted in a long history of civilizational and human interaction dating back to 1964. He also affirmed his aspiration to work with the Greek government and all relevant authorities to elevate bilateral cooperation relations to broader horizons, building on the achievements realized in recent years, thereby enhancing common interests and serving the aspirations of the two friendly countries.
