Meteorology: Weather during the weekend holiday will be extremely hot

The Meteorology Department has forecast that the country’s weather will generally be very hot during the day, hot to warm at night, and relatively humid, especially in coastal areas, with active winds stirring up dust. The Acting Director of the Department, Dharar Al-Ali, told KUNA that the country is affected by an extension of a surface low-pressure system accompanied by a very hot air mass, with moderate-speed northwesterly winds that intensify at times, stirring up dust. The winds will then shift to southeasterly today and tomorrow, with relative humidity rising, particularly in coastal areas.

He noted that daytime weather today will be very hot and humid, especially in coastal areas, with winds variable to southeasterly, light to moderate in speed, ranging between 8 and 30 kilometers per hour. Maximum temperatures are expected to range between 46 and 48 degrees Celsius, while sea conditions will be light to moderate, with wave heights between 1 and 4 feet.

Regarding nighttime weather, he said it will be hot to warm and humid, especially in coastal areas, with southeasterly to variable winds, light to moderate in speed, ranging between 6 and 26 kilometers per hour. Minimum temperatures are expected to range between 31 and 33 degrees Celsius, and sea conditions will be light to moderate, with wave heights between 1 and 3 feet.

Regarding Saturday’s daytime weather, Al-Ali said it will be very hot and relatively humid in coastal areas, with variable to northwesterly winds, light to moderate in speed, ranging between 8 and 32 kilometers per hour. Maximum temperatures are expected to range between 47 and 49 degrees Celsius, and sea conditions will be light to moderate, with wave heights between 1 and 4 feet.

He added that Saturday’s nighttime weather will be hot to warm and relatively humid in coastal areas, with northwesterly to variable winds, light to moderate in speed, ranging between 8 and 30 kilometers per hour. Minimum temperatures are expected to range between 34 and 36 degrees Celsius, and sea conditions will be light to moderate, with wave heights between 1 and 3 feet.
