Al-Anazi: No plans to conduct a traffic study for Jabir Al-Ahmad Residential City

Zakaria Muhammad: Municipal Council member Eng. Abdul Latif Al-Duai proposed issuing standardized contract templates approved by the Municipality between property owners and contractors for private residential construction and demolition projects, in order to safeguard the rights of both parties. Al-Duai stated that private residential construction and demolition projects have witnessed numerous disputes between owners and contractors due to the poor quality of contracts. He called for the issuance of Municipality-approved contract templates between owners and contractors for private residential projects to ensure the protection of both parties’ rights.

On another note, Council member Abdullah Al-Anzi called for the preparation of a comprehensive traffic study to enhance the quality of life and sustainability in the Jabir Al-Ahmad City residential project. Al-Anzi noted that the city covers an area of approximately 12 square kilometers and includes 6,679 residential units, alongside an integrated service system comprising schools, a government complex, and a group of commercial shops. He added that the city includes approved investment sites for establishing a private university, a private hospital, private schools, commercial and administrative complexes, investment housing, as well as several other commercial and service projects.

Al-Anzi urged the Executive Body of the Kuwait Municipality, in coordination with the Ministry of Interior (represented by the General Directorate of Traffic), the Ministry of Public Works, the Public Authority for Housing Welfare, and relevant entities, to cover all current and future projects. This would involve assessing the current absorption capacity of the city’s entry and exit points and its internal road network, and measuring their ability to accommodate future traffic flows.
