Omani Ambassador: I return to my country, but Kuwait remains in my heart and memory

Faisal Matar: Former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs, Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad, hosted a ceremony honoring the Sultanate of Oman’s Ambassador to Kuwait, Dr. Saleh bin Amer Al-Kharousi, on the occasion of the conclusion of his mission in the country. During the event, he praised the ambassador’s dedicated efforts to support and strengthen the fraternal, robust, and enduring ties between Kuwait and the Sultanate of Oman, wishing him continued success and achievement in his future endeavors.

The ceremony was attended by a number of officials and diplomats, alongside members of the Omani Embassy staff in Kuwait, reflecting the deep appreciation held for Ambassador Al-Kharousi and the notable progress in bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries during his tenure.

Ambassador Dr. Saleh Al-Kharousi expressed his profound gratitude and appreciation to former Foreign Minister Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah for the honor ceremony, affirming that this kind gesture reflects the depth of fraternal relations uniting the two countries and their peoples.

In a statement to journalists, Al-Kharousi said that hosting by Sheikh Ahmad Al-Nasser, in the presence of numerous current and former officials and diplomats, was a source of pride and appreciation. He added that the honor bestowed at this gathering was “a gracious touch, not surprising from Sheikh Ahmad Al-Nasser.”

He emphasized that his tenure in Kuwait witnessed numerous achievements that contributed to strengthening bilateral relations, foremost among them high-level visits, particularly the state visit by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq to Kuwait and his meeting with His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. These interactions helped consolidate the firm fraternal relations between the two countries.

Al-Kharousi expressed his hope that relations between the Sultanate of Oman and Kuwait would witness further progress, development, and growth, and that God would grant both countries security, stability, and prosperity, thereby further enhancing the trajectory of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.

The Omani ambassador once again directed his thanks to Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Al-Nasser, affirming that his memories in Kuwait would remain etched in his mind. Expressing his feelings, he said, “I am returning to my country, but Kuwait will remain in my heart; I will never forget Kuwait.” He added, “We are united with Kuwait by historical and firm fraternal relations, and we share a common destiny.”
