Widespread security operation in the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area

Under the direct supervision of the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef, the Ministry of Interior, represented by several of its sectors, carried out a comprehensive security operation today, Wednesday, in the Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh area, with the participation of various state entities, as part of joint efforts to enhance security and reinforce the rule of law.
The operation involved the four military entities (the Kuwaiti Army, the Ministry of Interior, the Kuwait National Guard, and the General Fire Directorate), the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy, the Ministry of Public Works, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the Public Authority for Manpower, the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition, the Kuwait Municipality, and the Medical Emergency Administration of the Ministry of Health.
The operation aimed to identify violations on buildings and encroachments on state property, evacuate buildings and plots that were prone to collapse or in violation of regulations, and address residential units lacking safety and security standards that were overcrowded with single individuals and families, in anticipation of preventing any disasters or accidents. Additionally, it targeted the monitoring and apprehension of residency violators, fugitives from the law, and unlicensed commercial activities in private residences, as well as activities contravening regulatory requirements.
In detail, participating entities, each according to their jurisdiction, cordoned off and secured the area, cut off services to non-compliant buildings, monitored unlicensed activities, residency violations, and encroachments on state property, and issued the necessary violation notices.
In adherence to humanitarian considerations, fully equipped shelter sites were prepared to accommodate those evacuated from non-compliant buildings, providing all necessary comforts for families and expatriate communities.
The First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah, stated that this operation marks the beginning of a continuous phase, not the end of efforts, and will not be limited to the Jleeb area alone, but will extend to all governorates of the State of Kuwait. He emphasized that Kuwait’s reputation is a top priority and that safeguarding the security and safety of everyone living on this blessed land is a responsibility that brooks no negligence.
He also highlighted the level of danger observed today in the Jleeb area, due to the environmental and health pollution it experiences. He noted that among the area’s residents are workers in hospitals and restaurants, which could facilitate the transmission of diseases to them and subsequently to their workplaces, posing a risk to public health.
He stressed that there would be no leniency regarding non-compliant properties, affirming that all necessary legal measures would be taken against them, including the demolition of buildings prone to collapse or dilapidated, whenever necessary, to protect lives and property.
