Kuwait and Turkey: Strengthening Military Cooperation

Chief of the General Staff of the Army, Lieutenant General Khaled Al-Sharhan, and the Turkish Ambassador to Kuwait, Topi Nour Sonmez, discussed matters of mutual interest and avenues for military cooperation and its development, in a manner that serves the shared interests of both sides. The General Staff Presidency said in a press statement that Lieutenant General Al-Sharhan received the Turkish ambassador, during which they reviewed the bilateral relations between the two countries. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Major General Sabah Jaber Al-Ahmad, and the military attaché at the Turkish Embassy in Kuwait, Colonel Cukhan Tekin. On another front, National Guard Deputy Commander Lieutenant General Hamad Al-Burjisi received, yesterday (Tuesday), the Turkish liaison officer, Colonel Zafar Cigeki, on the occasion of the conclusion of his tenure with the National Guard, accompanied by the new liaison officer, Colonel Cengiz Yilmaz, who will assume his duties with the National Guard. Lieutenant General Al-Burjisi welcomed Colonel Yilmaz, wishing him success in carrying out his duties and enhancing cooperation between the National Guard and the military and security authorities in the friendly Republic of Turkey.
