Trump: We will strike Iran with force... Tonight and tomorrow

U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Monday that the U.S. military would strike Iran with force tonight and tomorrow. Trump stated that the memorandum of understanding with Tehran had been a test and that Iran had not complied with it, adding, “My relationship with Netanyahu is very good; we sometimes disagree, and I tell him so.” Meanwhile, Trump said he would address the nation on Thursday evening, without specifying the topic of the anticipated speech. In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump noted that the address would take place at 9 p.m. Eastern Time (01:00 UTC) on Friday. The U.S. president also boasted that his country possesses the strongest military in the world, adding, “Everyone sees that in Iran.” He continued, “Iran has been imposing its will on others for 47 years, but it cannot do so with us; we impose our will on Iran, not the other way around.” Additionally, the U.S. president formally notified Congress of the resumption of military operations against Iran via a letter addressed to congressional leaders. Trump explained that U.S. forces carried out defensive strikes against targets inside Iran on July 7 in response to Tehran’s attack on several commercial vessels flying neutral flags as they transited the Strait of Hormuz.
