Ambassadors and diplomats pay condolences at the Qatari Embassy

May Al-Sukari: A large number of ambassadors, heads of diplomatic missions, and representatives of international organizations converged at the Qatari Embassy in Kuwait to offer condolences on the passing of the Father Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. They affirmed that the late leader was an exceptional figure who contributed to building modern Qatar’s renaissance, establishing its pioneering role, and enhancing its standing at both the regional and international levels, leaving behind a political and humanitarian legacy that will remain present in collective memory. These remarks were made following the presentation of condolences to Ali bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud, Qatar’s Ambassador to Kuwait, and embassy officials.
Ambassadors and heads of diplomatic missions unanimously agreed that the Father Emir played a pivotal role in supporting the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) process, consolidating fraternal relations among sister nations, and contributing to development, humanitarian work, mediation, and the enhancement of regional stability.
The Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Kuwait, Dr. Saleh bin Amer Al Khroushi, stated that His Highness the Father Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, was among the most prominent leaders who contributed to Qatar’s renaissance. He emphasized the Emir’s pivotal role in supporting the GCC’s trajectory and strengthening joint Gulf cooperation.
For his part, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Kuwait, Salah Al-Malki, said that the passing of His Highness the Father Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, may Allah have mercy on him, represents a significant loss for sisterly Qatar, as well as for the Arab and Islamic nations. He cited the rich legacy of generosity and achievements left behind, along with his substantial contributions in serving his country, people, and nation, and in consolidating Qatar’s regional and international standing. Al-Malki added that the Father Emir, may Allah have mercy on him, was a wise leader with a visionary outlook who dedicated his life to serving his country, nation, and humanity, contributing to comprehensive development in Qatar and leaving a national and humanitarian legacy that will stand as a testament to a career filled with achievements and generosity.
For his part, the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Kuwait, Mohamed Abu Al-Wafa, expressed sincere sorrow and grief over the passing of the late, may God have mercy on him, Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. He affirmed that the deceased made significant contributions to Qatar’s renaissance, marked by notable development and progress. Ambassador Abu Al-Wafa noted the Father Emir’s prominent role at the Gulf, Arab, and international levels, pointing out that Qatar witnessed a distinctive developmental journey during his reign that established it as a leading model in the region.
Turkish Ambassador Tubi Nour Sunmez affirmed that relations between Turkey and Qatar represent a unique model of strategic partnership and strong brotherhood between the two countries. She highlighted that His Highness the Father Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, played the most prominent role in consolidating these relations and elevating them to unprecedented levels. Sunmez stated that the Father Emir holds a special place in the hearts of the Turkish people and leadership due to his extensive efforts in strengthening bilateral relations. She affirmed that he was a statesman with penetrating vision and an exceptional leader who contributed to building modern Qatar’s renaissance and enhancing its presence and standing on both regional and international stages.
For her part, the European Union Ambassador to Kuwait, An Coquelin, expressed sincere condolences and sympathies to the government and people of Qatar on the passing of the late, may God have mercy on him, Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. She stated that EU-Qatar relations are characterized by strength and closeness, emphasizing the EU’s deep respect for the deceased, known as a voice of wisdom and moderation in the region. She added that Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani made strong contributions to the modernization and development of Qatar, highlighting his prominent role in enhancing his country’s regional and international standing.
For his part, the Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy to Kuwait, Stephen Butler, expressed profound sorrow over the passing of the late, may God have mercy on him, Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, praising his major role in building modern Qatar. Butler stated that Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa was a visionary leader who contributed to shaping the foundations of the Qatar known to the world today, affirming that his passing represents a significant loss.
For his part, the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to Kuwait, Siyan Al-Majali, affirmed that the Father Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, left indelible marks on Qatar’s developmental journey and contributed to enhancing its regional and international standing. He also noted the Emir’s support for Arab cooperation and solidarity efforts.
Ghada Al-Tahir: A prominent role in mediation and humanitarian work
The UN Resident Coordinator in Kuwait, Ghada Al-Tahir, offered sincere condolences and sympathies to the government and people of Qatar on the passing of the late, may God have mercy on him, Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. She stated that Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani was an inspiring leader with a prominent role in the development process, mediation efforts, and humanitarian work on a global scale, noting that these efforts received widespread appreciation not only from the United Nations but from the entire international community. She added that the deceased left an important mark in various fields, praying to God Almighty to envelop him in His vast mercy and to inspire the Qatari leadership and people with patience, solace, and the best of condolences.
