U.S. Central Command: Launching more strikes against Iran

The U.S. Central Command announced on Monday that U.S. military forces have begun launching additional strikes against Iran. In a statement, it clarified that the strikes aim to continue undermining Iran’s ability to attack civilian mariners and commercial vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz. The U.S. Central Command noted that Commander-in-Chief Admiral Brad Cooper ordered the strikes to hold Iranian forces accountable. This comes after U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth warned Iran on Sunday of severe consequences following its targeting of ships while they were passing through the Strait of Hormuz. Hegseth posted on his X account, “Iran made a bad decision and is paying the price,” marking his first comment since the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced a new round of military strikes against Iran.
