Trump: We struck Iran severely last night, and the Strait of Hormuz is open to navigation

U.S. President Donald Trump said that the United States launched severe strikes against Iran last night. Trump added that the Strait of Hormuz remains open to commercial navigation. He stated, “We had an agreement with the Iranians yesterday, and they conceded everything, but then, suddenly, two hours later, they struck a ship with a drone.” U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced last night the start of a new round of military strikes against Iran after the country targeted a commercial vessel while it was transiting the Strait of Hormuz. In a statement posted on its X (formerly Twitter) page, CENTCOM said its forces began launching a third round of military strikes against Iran this week, following an attack by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on the container ship “GF Galaxy,” which was flying a Cypriot flag, as it transited the Strait of Hormuz.
