The Amir's Diwan: Official mourning declared and flags lowered for four days for the death of the Amir, the Father

The following statement was issued from the Amir’s Diwan: “In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. By order of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, may Allah protect and safeguard him, official mourning is declared, and flags are to be flown at half-mast throughout the country and at Kuwaiti embassies abroad, starting today, Sunday, 27 Muharram 1448 AH, corresponding to July 12, 2026 CE, for a period of four days, in mourning for the passing of the late Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, may Allah have mercy on him. We ask Allah, the Exalted and Mighty, to envelop the deceased in His boundless mercy and forgiveness, to grant him a spacious place in Paradise, and to reward him abundantly for all he has done for his nation.”
