His Highness the Amir Condoles the Emir of Qatar on the Passing of the Amir al-Walid

His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad, sent a telegram of condolence to Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar, conveying on behalf of himself, the Kuwaiti government, and the Kuwaiti people their profound sorrow, deep grief, sincere condolences, and heartfelt sympathy to His Highness, the esteemed ruling family, and the Qatari people upon the passing of the late Amir, the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, may God have mercy on him.
His Highness affirmed that the State of Qatar, the Gulf family, the Arab and Islamic nations, and the world have lost a great leader and a towering symbol distinguished by keen vision and wisdom, who dedicated his life to serving his country and people, as well as Arab and Islamic causes, standing by them and defending them. He noted that he has lost a dear brother with whom he shared a special relationship characterized by friendship and affection.
His Highness added that the State of Kuwait and its people, who have suffered this loss, will always recall with pride and honor the positions taken by the State of Qatar and the late Amir, may God have mercy on him, in support of Kuwait’s just causes during the Iraqi occupation. He also praised the comprehensive developmental progress and significant advancements achieved by the State of Qatar during the late Amir’s blessed reign, which elevated it to the ranks of advanced nations.
His Highness prayed to Almighty God to envelop the late Amir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, in His boundless mercy, forgiveness, and pleasure, and to grant him a place in His spacious Paradise among the righteous, the martyrs, and the truthful, for what excellent companions they are. He also prayed that God grant His brother, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the esteemed ruling family, and the brotherly Qatari people, beautiful patience and solace in their bereavement.
