ISESCO Director: Kuwait’s Journey Rich in Spreading Culture
The Director-General of the Islamic World Organization for Education, Science and Culture (ISESCO), Dr. Salem Al-Malik, praised today (Saturday) Kuwait’s vital role and its dynamic leadership in supporting education, science, culture, literature, arts, media, and the dissemination of knowledge.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with KUNA on the occasion of his re-election as ISESCO’s Director-General for a second term, Al-Malik described Kuwait as “an authentic partner of ISESCO, united by a shared vision and belief that investing in human capital is the most fruitful and sustainable investment.”
He highlighted the importance of partnerships with relevant Kuwaiti institutions, recalling his visits to Kuwait and his close observation of the robust dynamism of its distinguished institutions, including the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, Kuwait University, and the Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain Foundation for Poetic Creativity.
At the same time, Al-Malik commended KUNA’s attention and its continuous coverage of the renewal and development path launched by ISESCO since 2020, which has been consolidated over six years of diligent work. In this regard, he pointed to a joint training program organized by ISESCO in cooperation with KUNA in Kuwait last February on “The Use of Artificial Intelligence in News Writing and Producing Meaningful Media Content,” aimed at journalists and influencers. He emphasized that this program “embodies Kuwait’s status as a trusted partner in distinctive initiatives with a regional dimension.”
He also praised the fruitful cooperation with the Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain Foundation for Poetic Creativity in implementing the comprehensive media training program “Content Production” in the Media Production City in Egypt. He expressed his pride in ISESCO’s initiative winning the Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain Award for Creativity in Service of the Arabic Language in the Institutions category. Furthermore, he appreciated the ongoing coordination with the Kuwaiti Embassy in Morocco (the host country).
Al-Malik stated that his re-election as Director-General, based on the nomination by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represents a divine blessing and a collective success reflecting the confidence of member states, as demonstrated in the proceedings of the Organization’s 15th General Conference, recently held in Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation. He affirmed that this choice “constitutes recognition of the Organization’s qualitative institutional transformation,” as well as the empowerment of youth and women, the stimulation of innovation and creativity, and the transfer of work methodologies and priorities.
He clarified that the Organization’s new strategic vision up to 2030 is led by youth and driven by faith in knowledge, meticulous planning, and continuous partnership.
