Kuwaiti dentist arrested on charges of possessing drugs and psychotropic substances

The Ministry of Interior announced on Saturday that the General Directorate of Criminal Investigations had arrested a citizen on charges of possessing narcotics and psychoactive substances with intent to consume and trade them in exchange for acts contrary to public morals. In a statement, the ministry said that “as part of the continuous efforts of the Criminal Security Sector to apprehend violators and lawbreakers and to combat negative phenomena, the General Directorate of Criminal Investigations, represented by the Department for Combating Human Trafficking and Negative Phenomena, managed to arrest a citizen working as a dentist on charges of possessing narcotics and psychoactive substances with intent to consume and trade them.”

It clarified that “the incident involved the suspect exploiting social media platforms to advertise narcotics and psychoactive substances and offer them in exchange for engaging in acts contrary to public morals. Based on precise investigations and intensified surveillance and monitoring operations, a tight ambush was set, resulting in the suspect being caught red-handed in one of the rented rooms. A search of the premises yielded two bags containing pieces of cannabis, three bags containing methamphetamine (shabu), 10 capsules of Lyrica, a bag containing a powdered narcotic, as well as paraphernalia for drug use.”

It added that “to complete legal procedures, and based on a warrant issued by the Public Prosecution, officers proceeded to the suspect’s residence and conducted a search, where additional hidden quantities were found in his private cabinet, including a plastic container holding methamphetamine, 46 tablets of Captagon, three pieces of cannabis of varying sizes, and a quantity of assorted psychoactive tablets.”

The ministry noted that “the suspect and all seized items have been referred to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal action against him.”
