Syria invites Fadl Shakir for a visit to honor him and return the favor

Syrian Minister of Culture Mohammad Yassin Saleh has formally invited Lebanese artist Fadl Shaker, following the announcement of his release, to visit Syria to honor him in recognition of his stance in support of the Syrian revolution. Minister Saleh posted on his X account: “The free artist Fadl Shaker wrote the lines of his own freedom from the moment he sided with the blessed revolution of the Syrian people, accompanying its key moments and turning points, and paid a heavy price for his position, never losing faith in it even when many abandoned it.” He continued: “Today, as Fadl Shaker breathes the air of freedom through his release, the free Syrians who love him and appreciate his authentic stance extend their congratulations. We tell him that the theaters of Damascus await his arrival, so that his free voice may resound and he may stand among his people and his audience.” He added: “The Ministry of Culture of the Syrian Arab Republic invites him to visit Syria to honor him and repay his kindness as befits him and loyal intellectuals with enduring positions.” The minister concluded his post by emphasizing that “the new Syria does not forget those who supported its revolution, rejoicing in opening its jasmine and roses when the criminals and terrorists were defeated and repelled.”
