Maysa Al-Sukari: The Algerian Ambassador to Kuwait, Omar Belhadj, revealed that advanced coordination is underway to launch a direct flight route between Kuwait and Algeria. He noted that the project has received approval from the relevant authorities in both countries and is expected to be inaugurated at the earliest opportunity, given its significance in facilitating travel, boosting tourism, increasing trade exchanges, and strengthening ties between businesspeople and the Algerian community in Kuwait.
Speaking on the sidelines of the celebrations marking the 64th anniversary of his country’s independence, Ambassador Belhadj emphasized that Kuwaiti-Algerian relations serve as a model of fraternal Arab ties, rooted in deep historical bonds and a shared will by the leaderships of both nations to enhance cooperation across various fields. He pointed out that the coming phase will witness further efforts to develop economic, investment, and tourism partnerships, reflecting the robust political relations between the two countries.
He stressed that both nations enjoy distinguished political relations and continuous coordination on various issues of mutual interest, reiterating their mutual commitment to translating this political convergence into broader economic, trade, and investment partnerships that serve the interests of both countries and peoples.
He further noted that Algeria and Kuwait share similar stances in supporting joint Arab efforts and enhancing security and stability in the region, alongside a commitment to the principles of dialogue and respect for state sovereignty, which has contributed to consolidating bilateral relations and making them stronger and more stable.
Marking the occasion, the Algerian Ambassador recalled the struggle of the Algerian people, affirming that the independence achieved on July 5, 1962, was not a gift from the colonizer, but rather the fruit of a bitter struggle and great sacrifices made by the Algerian people over more than 130 years, culminating in the glorious Revolution of Liberation.
