Trump: We were lenient with Iran and gave it a week to bury Khamenei

US President Donald Trump said on Saturday that America had given Iran a one-week deadline to halt operations in order to hold the funeral ceremony for Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, “out of kindness.” Trump also emphasized, during a speech delivered at Mount Rushmore in South Dakota on Independence Day, that Iranians are eager in every way to reach a political settlement with the American side, a description he provided. He further noted that his administration had launched very severe strikes against Tehran and had resolved the confrontation with Venezuela in a single day. On another note, Trump stated that America had already entered its golden age, but added, “We are still at the starting point,” and asserted that no country in the world has contributed more positive contributions to humanity than his own. Additionally, he warned against the Democratic Party’s return to the presidency and power, pointing out that if they return, they will seek to enact laws and amendments that would eliminate any chance for Republicans to win any future elections. He also drew attention to “newcomers to the United States who embrace communist ideas that are completely incompatible with the American way of life and economic success.” He stressed that “the disagreement is not merely political, concerning taxes and regulations, but is embodied in a confrontation with communism, which poses a mortal threat to freedom,” and viewed American identity as facing “a renewed attack from zealots and extremists within the country.”
