Bader Al-Attar, Managing Director of Planning and Finance at Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), stated that the geopolitical events the region has experienced have not deterred us from continuing our operations in the oil sector, noting that the oil supply chain remained uninterrupted, particularly domestic supplies, which were not affected at all during the crisis. He added that the corporation was keen on not losing its global customers and worked to offer competitive prices to that end, pointing out that current oil production stands at approximately 2.1 million barrels per day. He mentioned that the corporation quickly restored its production capacity after the crisis to maintain its standing among customers, adding that all planned projects were in the preparation phase, alongside reviewing future plans and preparing contingency plans in case of any disruptions. Al-Attar said that capital expenditure on projects did not stop; only training expenditure programs were halted, along with spending on non-profitable activities. He emphasized that KPC’s relationship with its customers is characterized by flexibility, citing that production and supplies continued normally. He noted that the corporation is exploring all means to enhance its operations, such as the Shahin project, which attracts foreign investment and thereby boosts Kuwait’s appetite for investment. He pointed out that efforts are underway to provide all available options and expedite decision-making. Al-Attar highlighted that external oil stocks played a role in ensuring short-term supplies, and that current efforts are focused on establishing long-term external storage facilities with larger capacities.
