Al-Kuwait Club celebrated its 16th league title in its history, and its 14th consecutive one, by defeating Al-Burqan 36-21 in the final round of the 2025-2026 season, while Kazma finished third after beating Al-Nasr 38-26.
Khaled Al-Ghanem, chairman of Al-Kuwait Club’s board of directors, said, “Winning the local league title for the 14th time is an unprecedented achievement in the history of Kuwaiti handball, credited to the club, its current and former administrations, and all those who contributed to it.”
Al-Ghanem noted that “the Whites” have won both local and continental titles, expressing hope that the club would continue to climb the podiums and secure more championships. He added that “the club’s plans for next season aim to win trophies and finish first, representing the State of Kuwait abroad in the best possible manner.”
He praised the efforts of Al-Kuwait Club’s fans and their unwavering support for the players, as well as the club’s board of directors, players, and technical and administrative staff for achieving this “historic milestone.”
For his part, Anwar Al-Atiqi, chairman of Al-Burqan Club’s board of directors, said, “Al-Burqan’s performance this season was ‘positive,’ and finishing second secured our participation in the upcoming Asian Club Championship.”
Al-Atiqi added that the club would compete next season for both the league and cup titles by developing the team’s system and making targeted signings, while also aiming to defend its Asian title.
He commended the role of the handball federation in striving to create a competitive league that would positively impact player standards and, consequently, the national team, which is scheduled to participate in the upcoming World Cup finals in Germany early next year.
Al-Kuwait topped the league standings with 27 points, followed by Al-Burqan in second place with 19 points, then Kazma in third with 18 points. Al-Arabi finished fourth with 16 points, Al-Salibikhaat fifth with 8 points, and Al-Nasr last with just 2 points.
