Kuwait National Bank organized a comprehensive awareness discussion session for its employees in conjunction with the events of the global Breast Cancer Awareness Month, in line with its responsibility and constant commitment to enhancing the health and well-being of its workforce. The session, which saw widespread attendance from various departments, was presented by one of the disease’s survivors and aimed to raise health awareness regarding the importance of early detection, break the fear barrier associated with the disease, and promote a culture of prevention and healthy lifestyles among the bank’s staff.
A simplified and scientific explanation was provided by Diagnostic Radiology Consultant Dr. Shatha Al-Najdi, covering the nature of the disease, key risk factors, and early warning signs that necessitate immediate medical examination. The session also introduced the latest methods for self-examination and periodic diagnostic screening, answered attendees’ questions, and provided vital signs and body mass index (BMI) tests, along with individual nutritional consultations.
The event also featured the announcement of three winners of the “Every Step Counts” challenge, organized by Kuwait National Bank to encourage physical activity and raise awareness about ways to combat breast cancer.
On this occasion, Afrah Al-Arbash, General Manager of Human Resources Management at Kuwait National Bank, stated, “We believe that human capital is our true wealth. From this perspective, we spare no effort in creating a supportive and motivating work environment for health. This discussion session reflects our commitment to our responsibilities and our dedication to spreading health awareness across the bank’s departments.” She emphasized that organizing this awareness session aligns with the bank management’s priority of ensuring employee safety, noting that attention to health and awareness directly impacts the professional and personal quality of life of female employees, and underscores Kuwait National Bank’s ongoing commitment to caring for its human resources as the fundamental pillar for the success and sustainability of its operations. She encouraged employees to make periodic screenings a sustainable preventive behavior that contributes to protecting both their families and their work environment.
Al-Arbash added that breast cancer awareness during October is not merely an annual activity, but a noble health and humanitarian message through which the bank aims to empower participants with correct medical knowledge and guidelines that contribute to raising health awareness levels, reducing risks, and achieving the best recovery rates and early treatment outcomes.
She concluded, “We believe that quality of life in the work environment is an integral part of the bank’s comprehensive plans. Therefore, we ensured that this initiative is a practical step within a series of awareness programs aimed at raising the level of comprehensive healthcare. We look forward to continuing to launch quality initiatives for all our employees in the coming period.”
This event adds to the awareness program launched by the bank on its social media platforms, where numerous videos were published in collaboration with the “Be Strong” team of survivors to provide necessary advice on dealing with and confronting the disease, and to emphasize the importance of consistently adopting a healthy lifestyle, which helps reduce infection rates in society.
