Ahmadi Governor and Chairman of the Green Urban Development Initiatives Committee, Sheikh Hamad Al-Jaber, stated that the committee discussed six initiatives submitted by various private companies, cooperative societies, and individuals, focusing on ornamental landscaping for several roundabouts in certain residential areas, as well as planting and beautifying the central island of a main street in a residential city, alongside environmental conservation and sustainable development efforts.

Sheikh Al-Jaber explained, following his chairing of the committee’s meeting on Thursday, that the committee aims, through coordination with relevant government entities and the initiators, to create a beautiful urban environment and a more sustainable future for the State of Kuwait. He added that the committee also seeks to implement initiatives that combine environmental considerations with support for green spaces, in order to reinforce the concept of community partnership among government entities, private sector companies, and individuals to achieve sustainable development.

He noted that the committee discussed these initiatives during its meeting and verified that some of them met the technical requirements for implementation as stipulated by the relevant ministries and government authorities. However, the decision on certain initiatives was postponed at the request of committee members, who represent the relevant ministries and government entities. This postponement is intended to ensure that final approvals and specific conditions are obtained from those ministries and authorities, in accordance with the laws, decisions, and regulations governing the matter.

He pointed out that the initiatives discussed by the committee in its meeting will be submitted to the Public Services Committee of the Council of Ministers for a final decision. Sheikh Hamad Al-Jaber called on all initiators, including government and private companies, cooperative societies, and individuals, to submit their initiatives to the committee through its electronic platform.

He expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to all initiators for their contributions to developing and beautifying agricultural works on main streets and residential areas, highlighting aesthetic aspects, painting the main vehicle bridges and pedestrian footbridges on highways, and creating an urban environment that achieves sustainable development and preserves the environment.
