Arabs and the Necessity of Choice!
The author urges Arabs to decisively choose between war and peace, and democracy or humane systems

Like a mature and wise person who does not hesitate at crossroads to choose the right path that benefits them and those around them, the immature and foolish among us typically waver between right and wrong due to a lack of intellectual capacity or the absence of the cognitive and cultural reservoir needed to make swift and sound decisions. *** After a harsh and prolonged experience spanning decades that has relegated us to the bottom of global rankings in progress and development, Arabs must settle their affairs, make the right choices in matters of destiny, and rally around whatever decision is taken, rather than leaving issues adrift, as has been the case with the protracted state of neither war nor peace regarding the Palestinian issue and others. Thus, we must either embrace the option of war, after being convinced by its proponents of its validity, benefits, and past successes—such as the recent recovery of our lands through it—or alternatively, pursue peace and negotiations with adversaries to resolve outstanding issues, as repeatedly demonstrated that wars and violence lead to the loss of Arab territories, while peace enables their recovery. *** Final point: It is imperative that our Arab peoples choose between embracing the so-called Middle Eastern democracy, which through experience is typically accompanied by corruption, civil wars, displacement, poverty, disease, and a bleak future, or alternatively, adopting the approach of humane systems that, despite lacking elections, deliver the pinnacle of human aspirations through rapid development, security, prosperity, welfare, distinguished educational and health services, employment opportunities, transparency, and a bright future. Science cannot reconcile both; we must either choose demagogic slogans, mob rule, and ignorance, or opt for realism, wisdom, and intelligence, fulfilling humanity’s demand for a dignified and contented life.
