Foreign Minister Sheikh Jara Al-Jaber met yesterday with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan during the former’s official visit to the Saudi capital, Riyadh. In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Jara Al-Sabah reiterated Kuwait’s strong condemnation and rejection of the terrorist attacks carried out by the Houthi militia against several areas in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as their attempts to target Mecca and Medina. He affirmed that these odious attacks constitute a blatant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty, a flagrant breach of international law and international humanitarian law, a gross infringement on the sanctity and religious status of Islamic holy sites, and a provocation of the feelings of Muslims worldwide. He stressed that the continuation and recurrence of these systematic hostile acts, which involve targeting civilian objects and vital facilities, represent a serious escalation and a direct threat to the security of the Kingdom and regional stability, as well as posing grave risks to the safety of civilians and the security of air navigation, necessitating a firm international stance that ensures accountability and punishment for those responsible for these attacks. He reaffirmed Kuwait’s absolute solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its support for all measures taken by the Kingdom to safeguard its sovereignty, protect its security, and ensure its stability, emphasizing that the security of the Kingdom is an integral part of the security of the State of Kuwait and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. The two sides also reviewed during the meeting the deep-rooted historical ties and the strong fraternal relations between the two countries and their brotherly peoples, and affirmed their shared commitment to continuing to enhance bilateral cooperation and coordination frameworks across various fields and at all levels, in line with the directives of the wise leaderships of both countries and in response to their aspirations for greater integration and joint cooperation. The meeting also addressed the latest regional developments and their implications for regional security and stability, where both sides emphasized the importance of continuing Kuwaiti-Saudi consultations and coordination across various dimensions and intensifying joint efforts to confront current challenges amid the delicate circumstances the region is undergoing, based on shared destiny and common interests, and the keenness of the two brotherly countries to consolidate the foundations of regional security and stability.
