Foreign Minister Sheikh Jara Al-Jaber met yesterday with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan during his official visit to the Saudi capital, Riyadh. In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Jara Al-Sabah reiterated Kuwait’s strong condemnation and rejection of the terrorist attacks carried out by the Houthi militia against several areas in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as their attempts to target Mecca and Medina. He stressed that these heinous attacks constitute a blatant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty, a flagrant breach of international law and international humanitarian law, a clear infringement on the sanctity and religious status of Islamic holy sites, and a provocation of Muslims’ sentiments worldwide. He emphasized that the continuation and recurrence of these systematic hostile acts, which involve targeting civilian objects and vital facilities, represent a serious escalation and a direct threat to the security of the Kingdom and regional stability, in addition to posing grave risks to civilian safety and air navigation security. This necessitates a firm international stance ensuring accountability and punishment for those responsible for these attacks. Sheikh Jara reaffirmed Kuwait’s absolute solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its support for all measures undertaken to safeguard its sovereignty, security, and stability, stressing that the security of the Kingdom is an integral part of the security of Kuwait and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. The two sides also reviewed during the meeting the deep-rooted historical ties and the strong fraternal relations between the two countries and their peoples, and affirmed their shared commitment to continuing to enhance bilateral cooperation and coordination frameworks across various fields and at all levels, in line with the directives of the wise leaderships of both countries and in response to their aspirations for greater integration and joint cooperation. The meeting also addressed the latest regional developments and their repercussions on regional security and stability, with both sides stressing the importance of continuing Kuwaiti-Saudi consultations and coordination across various dimensions and intensifying joint efforts to confront current challenges amid the delicate circumstances facing the region, driven by shared destiny and common interests, and the keenness of the two brotherly countries to consolidate the foundations of regional security and stability.
