Assistant Director of the Traffic Awareness Department at the Operations and Traffic Sector, Major Abdullah Buhasan, confirmed that roads leading to Kuwait City are experiencing heavy traffic during morning hours due to ongoing maintenance work on several major routes. He noted that maintenance work on the Fourth Ring Road has directly caused traffic congestion on the Fifth Ring Road, which has become an alternative route for drivers who previously used the Fourth Ring Road.
Speaking during the traffic segment of the “Good Morning, Kuwait” program broadcast on Kuwait Television, Major Buhasan urged drivers to follow news and traffic bulletins regarding alternative routes, which are published on the official websites of the Ministry of Interior, to help them choose suitable paths and avoid congestion as much as possible. He added that staying updated on traffic developments helps mitigate the impact of congestion, particularly during morning peak hours when there is heavy traffic flow toward the capital.
In a separate context, as winter sets in and rains begin to fall, Buhasan called on drivers to ensure the condition of their tires and the effectiveness of their front and rear windshield wipers. He emphasized the importance of activating the defogging system to ensure clear visibility while driving in rainy conditions.
