Amman – Agencies: Jordanian security forces arrested the perpetrators of the bloody attack on a church in Karak Governorate yesterday morning, which left nine dead. (See page 13.) The General Security Directorate said in a statement that security agencies were able to locate the three terrorists who had holed up in an abandoned house in Karak, noting that they refused to surrender and opened fire on the security force, which engaged them until they were all neutralized and arrested, with no casualties among the security personnel. For his part, Jordan’s Director General of Public Security, Major General Abdullah Al-Maaytah, announced that all the perpetrators belonged to the same family: two were brothers and the third was their cousin. They are Hazaa Zaidan Mohammad, Meshal Zaidan Mohammad, and Ahmad Sami Hussein. All of them hold takfiri ideologies and reside near the town of Al-Hamoud. Jordan’s state television, Al-Mamlaka Channel, reported that the attackers were taken to the hospital, noting that one of them is in critical condition. King Abdullah II, commenting on the arrest operation via the X platform, said, “We said that terrorists will not escape punishment, and no one harboring a divisive ideology that pits Jordanian against Jordanian will go unpunished.” For his part, Interior Minister Mazen Al-Farayeh told Al-Mamlaka Channel yesterday that all the attackers are Jordanians, and there are no indications of external contacts or collaboration with foreign entities.
