Mbappé: 100 goals just a detail

French striker Kylian Mbappé, who scored both winning goals for Real Madrid in their 2-1 victory over rivals Barcelona in El Clásico, said that reaching the milestone of 100 goals for the club was “just a detail.” Speaking to Real Madrid TV, Mbappé said, “I’m very happy. I think everyone already knows that I love scoring goals and helping the team in this way, but I believe it’s just a detail. The most important thing is the team’s victory, and I think it will give us great confidence as a group.” The 27-year-old French forward added, “To be honest, the real star of the night was the team, because we knew we had to deliver a great match, a match we had to play like men. Today’s win is a good message, but we can’t think the season is over. Next week, away against Racing Santander, we must show the same sharpness.” After two seasons without major trophies, Mbappé also stressed that if Real Madrid players want to win titles this season, they must “do it together, as a team,” adding, “When we look at the players here, anyone who claims there is a lack of quality is lying.”
