Al-Ajiri: Nighttime cold begins Thursday

The Al-Ajiri Scientific Center stated that the second Manzila of the Al-Wasm season, known as “Al-Samak,” begins next Thursday and lasts for 13 days, bringing with it a feeling of nighttime cold. In a press release issued yesterday, the center explained that the weather during this Manzila is characterized by cool nights, humid winds at sunrise, and longer nighttime hours, noting that this period marks the earliest time for the Dhuhr (noon) prayer of the year. It added that a key feature of “Al-Samak” is the noticeable chill in the water, especially in the morning, and pointed out that ancestors used the increase in sheep births as an indicator of the onset of this Manzila, alongside an increased likelihood of rainfall. The center also noted that nighttime hours lengthen significantly during this period, while sunset occurs earlier.
