From Kuwait, we stand in solidarity with our brothers in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in the wake of the attack targeting a church in Karak Governorate, affirming that Jordan is impervious to terrorism, that the unity of its people and the cohesion of its national fabric are stronger than any attempts to sow fear and division, and that such criminal acts will not undermine the Kingdom’s stability or its deeply rooted values of coexistence and tolerance. Attacks on places of worship constitute a violation of human dignity and the right to security, peace of mind, and the free practice of religious rites; they are morally, ethically, and humanly unacceptable. Such acts do not target a specific location alone, but assault the values of coexistence that form the foundation of cohesive societies.
Throughout its history, Jordan has demonstrated its capacity to confront challenges, thanks to the awareness of its people and the solidarity among its citizens, and it will remain impervious to any attempt to threaten its security or drive a wedge among its people. The true strength of nations lies in the unity of their peoples and in their ability to transform crises into moments that reinforce solidarity and commitment to national constants. Terrorism seeks to instill fear and exploit differences to incite division, but the awareness and cohesion of societies prevent such objectives from being realized.
In this context, it is crucial to respond to such incidents responsibly, by applying the law and holding perpetrators accountable, while rejecting hate speech and incitement, and ensuring that no attack undermines the fraternal relations among the citizens of a single nation. Kuwaiti solidarity with Jordan stems from deep-rooted historical ties that bind the two countries and their peoples, and from a profound conviction that Jordan’s security and stability are integral to the security and stability of the Arab region. The bonds of fraternity between Kuwait and Jordan have consistently been a hallmark of sincere positions, cooperation, and mutual support, especially in times of hardship and crisis.
Protecting places of worship and safeguarding human dignity are shared responsibilities that require entrenching a culture of tolerance and respect for others, and strengthening the values of citizenship that unite all under the umbrella of the nation. Religious and social diversity should not serve as a pretext for division, but rather as evidence of societies’ capacity for coexistence and integration, and for building a future based on mutual respect and peace.
We extend our deepest condolences and sympathies to the families of the victims and to the brotherly Jordanian people. We pray to God to have mercy on the martyrs, to grant the injured a swift recovery, and to protect the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, both its leadership and its people, and to perpetuate upon it the blessings of security and stability. Jordan will remain impervious to terrorism, strong through the unity of its people and the cohesion of its institutions, and Kuwaiti-Jordanian fraternity will endure as a model of authentic Arab relations, whose true meaning emerges in times of adversity, when humanity and solidarity take precedence over all other considerations. May God protect Jordan and its people, and may He perpetuate security, safety, and stability upon the two brotherly nations.
