Al-Kharafi: We Mobilized All Resources to Ensure Success of 'Premier Padel'

The qualifying rounds for the “Premier Padel” tournament, one of the global “Major” events hosted by Kuwait from October 26 to 31, kicked off the day before yesterday. The event features a select group of the world’s top champions and first-ranked players in the sport of padel. Kuwait secured the right to organize and host the tournament last May, after the International Padel Federation promoted the Kuwait event from the “B1” category to “Major” status on the 2026 season calendar.

In this regard, Badr Al-Kharafi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PNC Holding Group, confirmed that organizational and technical preparations for hosting the tournament, held under the auspices of the International Padel Federation, are complete. Al-Kharafi stated that PNC, the organizing body, has dedicated all available resources and provided all necessary requirements in recent months to ensure the success of this global sporting event. He emphasized that Kuwait’s hosting of the tournament reflects its capacity to organize major international competitions in accordance with the highest technical and organizational standards.

He praised the government support for the tournament, particularly from the Public Authority for Youth and Sports, commending their efforts and cooperation with the organizing body in facilitating all measures to ensure the success of this global event. He expressed pride in the tournament’s inclusion in the “Kuwait Youth and Sports Season,” which features a diverse range of activities and sporting competitions, and reaffirmed the organizer’s commitment to delivering a distinctive event befitting Kuwait’s standing on the international sports stage.

He clarified that organizing the tournament aligns with the directives of the political leadership aimed at enhancing Kuwait’s position as a hub for hosting global sporting events and supporting activities that contribute to stimulating the country’s tourism and economic sectors. He noted that the participation of a select group of the world’s top padel stars gives the tournament significant technical and competitive importance, offering a unique opportunity for Kuwaiti fans and padel enthusiasts to follow high-level international competitions, while also playing a role in promoting the sport, encouraging youth participation, and elevating its standards locally.

Al-Kharafi pointed out that organizing such global tournaments reflects the importance of cooperation between the public and private sectors in ensuring the success of major sporting events and showcasing Kuwait’s organizational capabilities. He expressed his hope that the tournament will achieve technical and organizational success that strengthens Kuwait’s presence on the global sports map.
