Olmo Out for a Month

Barcelona midfielder Dani Olmo has suffered a left adductor muscle injury and will be sidelined for approximately a month, the Catalan club announced yesterday. Olmo was forced off in the 27th minute during Barcelona’s 4-2 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League. He remained on the pitch after a collision with PSG’s Portuguese midfielder Vitinha before being replaced by Fermín López. The 28-year-old will miss at least four weeks, ruling him out of at least the next five matches, including the upcoming Clásico against Real Madrid and two tough fixtures against Atlético Madrid and Villarreal in November. Olmo, a key player for the Spanish national team, may also miss the next international break and the final two Nations League matches against the Czech Republic and England on November 12 and 15.
