In a dual celebration that blends homage to icons of Kuwaiti art with the revival of one of the region’s most prestigious theatrical venues, the General Secretariat of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters announced the organization of a tribute event titled “Haya Al-Fahad: A Life’s Journey,” in honor of the renovation of Dasma Theater and in recognition of the exceptional career of the Gulf screen icon. The event will take place on Monday, October 26, on the newly renovated stage of Dasma Theater, under the patronage of Dr. Mohammed Khaled Al-Jassar, Secretary-General of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters.

The celebration will feature a special screening of the documentary film “A Life’s Story,” produced by the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters, which highlights the most significant artistic and human milestones in the career of actress Haya Al-Fahad, spanning more than six decades. During this period, she delivered dozens of enduring dramatic and theatrical works that shaped the sensibilities of Gulf and Arab audiences, addressing societal and women’s issues with skill and distinction. The documentary includes testimonies from her colleagues, including Saad Al-Faraj, Suad Abdullah, Abdullah Al-Habil, Mohammed Al-Mansour, Jasem Al-Nabhan, Mohammed Jaber, Abdulrahman Al-Aqil, Dr. Khaled Ramadan, Dr. Mubarak Bilal, and others.

The film is led by a creative and artistic team: Dr. Ali Hassan directed the film, conceived its vision, and wrote the screenplay; Badr Al-Jaraf handled writing and preparation; Muhsin Mohammed Al-Zamil was responsible for cinematography and general supervision; Abdullah Hassan served as executive director, supported by Mahmoud Ali Al-Rais as assistant director, and Fatima Al-Mutawa as assistant director.

This tribute aligns with the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters’ strategy to preserve and document the legacy of pioneers of Kuwait’s artistic movement, honoring the figures who laid the foundations for the theatrical and dramatic renaissance in the region. The occasion also marks a prominent cultural event that breathes new life into Dasma Theater following the completion of its renovation and development works, restoring this historic venue to its pioneering role as one of the key stages that witnessed the beginnings and growth of Kuwaiti theater, a journey rich with achievements.
