Justice Minister and Advisor Nasser Al-Sumait affirmed that great hopes are placed on the Supreme Council of the Judiciary in serving the judiciary and litigants, and in translating the high directives of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, into consolidating justice and safeguarding rights and freedoms. This came in a press statement following Al-Sumait’s visit to the Justice Palace yesterday, during which he met with the Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Judiciary and the Chief Justice of the Court of Cassation, Senior Advisor Hani Al-Humaidan; the Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Judiciary and Deputy Chief Justice of the Court of Cassation, Senior Advisor Derrar Al-Waqian; and the President of the Court of Appeal and member of the Supreme Council of the Judiciary, Senior Advisor Tariq Al-Jaber.
He expressed his congratulations on the esteemed confidence bestowed by the Amir and their appointments to their judicial positions, wishing them success and divine guidance in bearing this national trust. Al-Sumait emphasized during the visit the commitment to elevating cooperation and coordination between the Ministry and the Supreme Council of the Judiciary to the highest levels, and to providing the administrative, financial, and technical needs of the judicial service. He stressed that the objective is singular: serving justice, facilitating public access to it, and accelerating the realization of people’s rights. He clarified that the impact of this cooperation should be felt by litigants through simplified procedures and expedited resolution of their cases, as serving the people and safeguarding their rights lie at the core of shared responsibility.
