In a new achievement reflecting its firm commitment to sustainability and the enhancement of responsible business practices, Gulf Bank announced that its branch in the Sabah Al-Ahmed Residential City has received the Platinum Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification, awarded by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) and the Green Business Certification Inc. (GBCI), in recognition of its efforts to implement the highest global standards for sustainable buildings and improve the efficiency of its operational processes.

On this occasion, Assistant General Manager of Facilities Management, Engineer Khaled Abdulwahab Al-Awadi, said, “The receipt of the LEED Platinum certification by the Sabah Al-Ahmed Residential City branch is a culmination of Gulf Bank’s continuous efforts to enhance environmental sustainability across its various facilities and premises. We do not view sustainability as a temporary initiative, but rather as a fundamental component of our institutional approach and long-term development plans.”

Al-Awadi added, “At Gulf Bank, we are committed to applying the best global standards in facility management and building operations, thereby achieving a balance between providing a modern and comfortable banking environment for customers and employees, on the one hand, and preserving natural resources and reducing environmental impacts, on the other. The LEED standards provide a comprehensive framework that helps us continue to develop our facilities on the basis of greater efficiency and sustainability.”

He emphasized that the bank continues to invest in the development of its branches and operational facilities by adopting modern technologies and systems that contribute to improving energy and water consumption efficiency and enhancing environmental performance. He noted that these efforts align with the targets of the 2030 Sustainability Strategy and support the bank’s vision of achieving responsible and sustainable growth.
