The Palestinian Struggle Unit and Its Leadership Unit
An article calling for postponing elections and building a unified national front to resist occupation.

In last week’s article, we wrote that we believe the postponement of the Palestinian elections was the result of American pressure on many parties, aimed at gaining more time to complete the components and prerequisites of the American-Zionist project to reduce the Palestinian national presence in every corner of occupied Palestine, and to move toward implementing the biblical Jewish project of establishing what is called “Greater Israel.” We demonstrated that the effective, resistant response to this new conspiracy is to build a unified Palestinian National Front, ideologically, strategically, and militarily, representing every Palestinian, resisting the Zionist entity in occupied Palestine, and striving to liberate the Palestinian people and land from the ordeal of enslavement under the Zionist settler occupation.
From the outset, we criticize our Palestinian brothers in all factions, without exception, for the failure of all their efforts and attempts to form that unified leadership throughout the past eighty years of occupation, enslavement, and the growing systematic plunder of the land, resources, and waters of historic Palestine. This has rendered resistance to the Zionist entity fragmented, ideologically and militarily divided, and prone to numerous errors, foremost among which is the mistake of entering into the failed Oslo project, which, over approximately fifty years, accepted keeping the fate of the Palestinian people, their homeland, and their rights in the hands of colonial American-Zionist powers, the Zionist entity, and its supporters, largely excluding Arab, Islamic, international, and human rights organizations and the institutions representing them.
Thus, the most sacred human rights issue since the mid-20th century until today has remained either in the hands of unscrupulous, valueless colonial criminals, or in the hands of the rightful owners of the cause who are fearful or hesitant, some of whom are linked to entities that are neither nationally, Islamically, nor morally committed. Consequently, it is time for this issue to transition from one manipulated right and left to one of struggle, resistance, liberation, and militant commitment. This can only happen if the issue returns to its rightful owners through the rapid realization of some of the following steps:
First: Convene a meeting in a suitable location for representatives of all organizations, political parties, and associations active within civil Palestinian communities and gatherings willing to attend, and unanimously declare the beginning of forming a unified, popular, democratic, coordinating Palestinian front. The first step should be the formation of a committee comprising senior Palestinian intellectuals, cultural figures, activists, and leaders, recognized for their prudence and integrity, wherever they may be, tasked with drafting a charter outlining the front’s objectives, strategy, and methods of operation, including all necessary ideological foundations and working methods in the charter’s initial formulation.
Second: This committee should also detail a proposal for holding elections among the entire Palestinian people to form a constituent committee of one thousand members or more. The mandate of this elected committee would be to discuss and approve the charter and strategy in their final form.
Third: Thereafter, the organization, operation, and expansion of that popular, democratic, militant Palestinian constituent front—particularly regarding its relationships, roles, formations, and methods of representing the Palestinian people’s will—should be left to the members of the constituent committee to study and implement, in coordination with numerous Palestinian entities, to achieve the primary goal of all these efforts: establishing a single militant leadership for the Palestinian people to resist the Zionist project, repel its occupation, and establish a single, democratic, Arab state of Palestine.
The great Arab people of Palestine, which has sacrificed countless lives in the struggle to repel the Zionist settler project, deserves to emerge from the vortex of division, discord, and fragmentation, and to hold the decisive voice in the Palestinian cause, with unwavering and continuous support from its Arab and Muslim brothers, as well as from peoples worldwide who love justice and human equality for all, foremost among them the Palestinian people. The unity of Palestinian leadership and the struggle of its people will serve as a nail in the coffin of the normalization movement, which, whether intentionally or not, has chosen to extend a hand to the culpable Zionist criminal at the expense of extending a hand of love, support, and moral and human commitment to the betrayed Palestinian victim. The vision presented for the first step is merely one among dozens of possible alternatives. It is hoped that Arab minds, devoted to Palestine and its people, will propose other visions, as part of our Arab nationalist obligations and Islamic and human fraternity.
