Al-Qurain 'Corin's Basket' Suffers Defeat to Aleppo Police

Al-Qurain suffered their third defeat against their Syrian counterparts, Aleppo Police, 79-81, in the match held the day before yesterday, as part of the third round of Group A in the Al-Ahli Youth International Basketball Championship, hosted at Sheikh Saeed bin Maktoum Hall, under the patronage of the Dubai Sports Council and supervised by the UAE Basketball Federation. With this result, both teams concluded their campaigns in the first round and will now compete for the consolation positions from fifth to eighth place, after the two tickets to the semifinals were secured by Al-Ahli Youth and Lebanon’s Antouni. The match was closely contested for most of its duration, with both teams trading baskets, and standout performances from Al-Qurain’s Robinson Love and Glenn Cozy. Al-Qurain ended the first quarter ahead 29-26, before extending their advantage to 46-39 by the end of the second quarter. They maintained their lead through the third quarter, despite Austin Everly fouling out with his fifth personal foul, and finished the period up 69-61. In the final quarter, Aleppo Police rallied, gradually narrowing the gap, and ultimately overturned the deficit to claim a two-point victory, 81-79.
