The Ministry of Oil announced yesterday that it had obtained three international certifications in accordance with the standards of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) in the fields of quality management, information security, and IT service management, after meeting the required criteria and successfully passing the audit processes. In a press statement, the Ministry affirmed that this new achievement strengthens the path of institutional development and digital transformation, and underscores its commitment to applying international standards in managing its operations and services.

The three ISO certifications include: ISO 27001 for the Information Security Management System, ISO 20000 for the IT Service Management System, and ISO 9001 for the Quality Management System.

Regarding the scope of these three international accreditations, the Ministry clarified that the first certification, ISO 27001, pertains to the Information Security Management System and was obtained by the Information Systems Center Department, confirming compliance with the international standard in this field and enhancing controls and procedures related to the protection of data and digital systems.

It added that the second certification, ISO 20000, relates to the IT Service Management System and was also obtained by the Information Systems Center Department, reflecting its efforts to develop IT service management mechanisms, improve operational efficiency, and enhance reliability levels in line with recognized international practices and standards.

The third certification, ISO 9001, pertains to the Quality Management System, and its accreditation scope extends to all departments under the Economic Affairs, Technical Affairs, Administrative and Financial Affairs, and Information Systems sectors. This supports the harmonization of quality standards, the development of work procedures, and the improvement of operational and service efficiency across the accredited sectors and departments.

The Ministry explained that obtaining these certifications represents a significant milestone in its efforts to elevate the institutional work framework and reflects its commitment to applying global standards in managing operations and services, enhancing information security, and ensuring the reliability of digital systems, thereby supporting its direction toward improving performance efficiency and developing a corporate work environment based on quality, sustainability, and continuous improvement.

It emphasized that these international accreditations serve as an incentive to continue developing the institutional work system, enhancing performance efficiency and service quality, and raising information security and technical system management levels. The Ministry highlighted its dedication to instilling a culture of quality and continuous improvement, adopting best global practices, supporting the digital transformation journey, and cementing a more efficient, reliable, and sustainable work environment.
