Kuwait officials launched the book “Charitable Work and National Unity,” aiming to document Kuwait’s experience in charitable and humanitarian efforts, highlight the role of endowments in strengthening social solidarity and consolidating national unity, and convey the values of giving and volunteering to future generations. The launch and presentation ceremony was held at the Ibrahim Tahir Al-Baghl Hall for Events yesterday evening, under the patronage and attendance of Eiman Al-Anzi, Assistant Undersecretary for Community Care and Development at the Ministry of Social Affairs.

In a statement delivered on his behalf by Vice Chairman Murtada Al-Jadda, Ibrahim Tahir Al-Baghl, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Endowment, emphasized that charitable work represents a noble humanitarian mission and a national pillar that contributes to enhancing social cohesion and safeguarding societal stability. He stressed the importance of coordinating the efforts of individuals, government institutions, and civil society organizations, particularly in light of the security challenges and exceptional circumstances facing the region.

Speaking on humanitarian giving, Al-Baghl noted that Kuwait has provided, and continues to provide, an exemplary model in charitable and humanitarian work, thanks to the wise guidance of its leadership, the generosity of its people, and the initiatives of its charitable and volunteer institutions, which have extended aid to those in need both domestically and abroad, driven by values of compassion, solidarity, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence. He added that the relationship between charitable work and national unity is close, as both reinforce shared responsibility and instill values of love, cooperation, and patriotism. He affirmed that unifying efforts to serve humanity turns giving into a bridge for connection and solidarity into a foundation for social stability.

Regarding the documentation of the experience, he explained that the publication of the book embodies the Kuwait Endowment’s commitment to documenting Kuwait’s experience in national and humanitarian work, highlighting the contributions of charitable endowments in supporting government efforts and enhancing social cohesion, thereby helping to consolidate a culture of giving and national responsibility. He added that the book aims to convey the values of charitable and volunteer work to future generations, introducing them to the importance of initiative and serving the country and society, thereby raising awareness of the role of charitable work in building a cohesive society.

On national cohesion, Al-Baghl pointed out that the importance of charitable and humanitarian work is amplified in light of the exceptional circumstances the region is undergoing, due to its role in supporting families and the most vulnerable groups, and in fostering a spirit of responsibility and solidarity among different segments of society. He affirmed that the unity, solidarity, and cooperation of Kuwaitis, along with the collaboration of its institutions, are essential elements in facing challenges, stressing the necessity of preserving and strengthening national unity as a fortress for stability and a pillar for continuing the path of development and giving.

Expressing gratitude and appreciation, Al-Baghl thanked the Minister of Social Affairs, Family, and Childhood, Dr. Amthal Al-Huwail, for her patronage and support of the work of endowments and charitable associations. He expressed his appreciation to the Undersecretary, the Assistant Undersecretary for Community Care and Development, and the staff of the ministry’s sectors for their efforts in supporting charitable work and enhancing its social role. He also extended his thanks to everyone who contributed to preparing and completing the book, as well as to those working in the fields of charitable, humanitarian, and volunteer work, in recognition of their contributions and service to the country and society.

On the leadership’s patronage, Al-Baghl concluded his speech by expressing profound appreciation to His Highness the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince, Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, and His Highness the Prime Minister, commending their continued care and attention to youth issues, as well as their support for the elderly, including their empowerment and care.

God Almighty prayed to protect Kuwait, its leadership, and its people, and to perpetuate upon them the blessings of security, safety, and stability.
