Health Minister Dr. Ahmed Al-Awadi opened the Ninth Scientific Conference of the Amiri Hospital, emphasizing the importance of medical conferences in exchanging perspectives, discussing scientific evidence, and approaching research findings in ways that positively impact the quality of medical decision-making and place patient welfare at the core of the healthcare system. He highlighted the significance of integrating medical specialties and ensuring coordination among care teams, particularly in internal medicine and its subspecialties, which require close and continuous collaboration with other specialties to provide comprehensive and integrated care for patients.

Minister Al-Awadi praised the pioneering role of Amiri Hospital and its continued fulfillment of its therapeutic, educational, and training missions, noting its recent distinguished achievement of reaching the sixth stage in the Digital Maturity Assessment program for electronic health records, developed by the International Health Information Management Association. He also commended the Kuwait Institute of Medical Specialties for offering Kuwaiti Board programs in internal medicine and specialized fellowship programs, highlighting their role as a fundamental pillar in preparing national cadres, refining clinical skills, and developing decision-making and teamwork abilities to elevate the level of healthcare services in the country. He welcomed the participation of experts from the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, India, led by the Institute’s Director, Professor Vivek Lal, and the Dean of Academic Affairs and Head of the Department of Internal Medicine, Professor Sanjay Jain, expressing hope that this participation would strengthen ties of cooperation and knowledge exchange between medical institutions.

For his part, Dr. Oosan Al-Muhaini, Head of the Medical Staff at Amiri Hospital and Chairman of the Conference, stated that what distinguishes the current edition of the conference is its academic collaboration with the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, where a delegation comprising five professors will present the latest results of their completed research and clinical studies.
