Justice Minister and Advisor Nasser Youssef Al-Sumeit announced that the number of summary orders issued since the actual launch of the electronic system on July 12 until October 11, 2026, reached 132,842 summary orders. Al-Sumeit stated that the same period in 2025 recorded 17,903 summary orders, meaning that the number after the launch of the electronic system exceeded seven times the figure recorded during the corresponding period. He clarified that the average daily output rose from approximately 195 orders per day during the same period in 2025 to about 1,444 orders per day following the implementation of the electronic system, reflecting its direct impact in accelerating case resolutions and shortening procedural cycles.

He added that a summary order is an expedited judicial procedure for resolving misdemeanor and violation cases that can be adjudicated with fines, without going through traditional trial procedures, while preserving the right of the subject of the order to appeal in accordance with the law.

Regarding backlog cases, Al-Sumeit explained that all orders issued during the three-month period relate to accumulated traffic cases. He noted that the Ministry of Interior had electronically referred to the Ministry of Justice approximately 683,000 requests for issuing summary orders concerning traffic violations dating back to years prior to 2023.

Al-Sumeit pointed out that the system, developed and implemented by Justice Ministry staff, covers all stages of the summary order process electronically, from receiving and reviewing requests, to issuing and electronically signing the orders, and finally publishing them through legally approved channels. This reduces reliance on paper files and mitigates the risk of cases becoming time-barred.

He commended the efforts of misdemeanor judges, enforcement officers of summary orders, and technical and administrative staff at the Ministry of Justice, reaffirming the commitment to continue developing the electronic litigation system, enhancing procedural efficiency, and accelerating case resolution.
