Al-Yousef: I Hope Cristiano Scores His 1,000th Goal in Kuwait

Kuwait Football Association President Sheikh Ahmed Al-Yousef affirmed that the Kuwaiti people stand as one solid block behind the leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, praising the fraternal ties between the Kuwaiti and Saudi peoples and expressing his pride in Kuwait’s hosting of the Saudi Super Cup matches. Al-Yousef stated that the Kuwaiti people hold deep loyalty to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its people, adding, “As a Kuwaiti people, we stand united behind the leadership of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the guidance of His Majesty the King, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, and His Highness the Crown Prince, and the loyal Saudi people stand with the people of Kuwait. All Kuwaitis are loyal to the Kingdom and its people.”

Al-Yousef revealed that Kuwait may also host the Saudi Super Cup next year, in accordance with the terms of the signed contract, emphasizing that hosting this tournament would not be the final milestone in the country’s journey of hosting major sporting events. He noted that a major event would be announced following the conclusion of the Saudi Super Cup matches, without disclosing further details.

Regarding the competition for the title, Al-Yousef predicted that the final would feature Al-Nassr and Al-Ahli, in a clash expected to attract widespread fan and media attention. He expressed his hope that Kuwaiti stadiums would witness a historic moment for Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, captain of Al-Nassr, stating that he expects the player to score his 1,000th career goal in Kuwait, an achievement that would add an extra dimension to the tournament should it materialize.
