Kawthar Al-Jouan, lawyer and head of the Institute for Women’s Development and Peace as well as the Arab Women Network for Peace, issued a statement saying: “We are following with deep concern and condemnation the recent developments and blatant attacks targeting the security and stability of our sister Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and our brothers in the Gulf states. These acts constitute a flagrant violation of all international laws and norms and pose a direct threat to regional and international peace and security. Al-Jouan strongly condemned these terrorist acts, attacks, and desperate attempts targeting vital facilities and civilian assets, emphasizing the rejection of any infringement on the security of the entire Gulf system, and expressing absolute and unconditional solidarity with the Kingdom and all our Gulf states in every measure they take to protect their security, integrity, and the safety of their citizens and residents on their territories. Al-Jouan called on the Gulf Cooperation Council, at this critical juncture, to strengthen joint defensive and security cooperation, activate continuous coordination mechanisms to monitor and counter threats, and reinforce the principle of collective security. She also called on the international community and soft-power actors to assume their responsibilities in condemning these attacks, halting escalation, and ensuring the stability of the region, which serves as a vital artery for the global economy.”
