The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the State of Kuwait, Yerzhan Yeliekov, met with Barathan Pasupathy, Chief Executive Officer of Jazeera Airways, to discuss opportunities for enhancing air connectivity between the two countries. The discussions focused on the importance of resuming direct flights to support tourism and trade, strengthen ties between the peoples, and consolidate bilateral relations between Kuwait and Kazakhstan.

Yerzhan Yeliekov, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the State of Kuwait, said: “Kazakhstan possesses attractive tourism assets for travelers from Kuwait, thanks to its unique natural environment, advanced tourism infrastructure, and diverse entertainment options. Direct air connectivity will play a fundamental role in leveraging these potentials. We look forward to Jazeera Airways resuming its flights to Kazakhstan, and we are ready to provide the necessary support to facilitate and enhance cooperation.”

The Ambassador added: “I am confident that resuming direct flights, when conditions permit, will give a new impetus to mutual tourism flows and strengthen commercial and economic relations, including facilitating an increase in the export of Kazakh products to the Kuwaiti market. It will also contribute to strengthening ties between the business communities of our two countries.”

Jazeera Airways reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to the Kazakh market and its interest in resuming direct flights as soon as current airspace restrictions are lifted and suitable operational conditions are available.

Barathan Pasupathy, Chief Executive Officer of Jazeera Airways, said: “We extend our thanks to Ambassador Yeliekov for his continuous engagement and support. Jazeera Airways began operating flights to Almaty in 2021, and although operations were subsequently suspended, Kazakhstan remains an important market for us. We value the strong relations between our two countries and recognize the crucial role that direct air connectivity plays in supporting tourism, business, and broader bilateral ties.”

Pasupathy continued: “We reaffirm our commitment to Kazakhstan and look forward to resuming air connectivity when airspace conditions allow, ensuring that flights operate safely and sustainably.”
