Riyadh (Agencies): Saudi Minister of Energy and Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, affirmed that fear has no place in the Saudi vocabulary, stressing that the resilience of the Kingdom’s energy system and the determination of its people enhance its capacity to confront crises, ensure the continuity of supplies, and continue the path of transformation and achievement of Vision 2030 targets. During his opening speech at the 25th International Energy Conference, held as part of Energy Week in Riyadh yesterday, attended by numerous ministers, officials, and industry leaders, the Saudi minister highlighted the importance of long-term investments in infrastructure, development of supply chains, and localization of industries, which support the Kingdom’s ability to address global challenges and changes and preserve opportunities for future generations in a more sustainable future. Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman clarified that resilience is not measured solely by the ability of systems to withstand shocks, but also by their capacity to repair damage, restore operations, and continue meeting market needs.

Meanwhile, Lieutenant General Turki Al-Maliki, the official spokesperson for the alliance supporting legitimacy in Yemen, announced the detection of threats involving drones and cruise missiles directed at the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, confirming that they are being addressed.

In a related development, the Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation announced the extension of the suspension of operational operations at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, to complete verification and inspection works to ensure the safety and operational readiness of the airport’s facilities. The extension decision comes within the framework of precautionary measures aimed at ensuring the highest standards of safety and security, while competent authorities continue inspection and technical assessment operations of the affected facilities.

The authority had previously announced the death of a Pakistani resident and injuries to 11 people following an attack that targeted Riyadh Airport on Sunday. It also announced that King Fahd International Airport in Dammam came under attack, amid ongoing blatant assaults targeting civil aviation facilities in the Kingdom.
