The Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Kuwait’s strong condemnation and outrage at the blatant attacks launched by the Houthi militia on King Khalid International Airport in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In a statement, the ministry affirmed that these attacks, which targeted airport facilities and a Saudi Airlines aircraft, resulted in the martyrdom of several Saudi citizens and injured residents of various nationalities, in addition to causing material damage. It described these acts as a flagrant violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty and a blatant breach of international law and international humanitarian law.
The ministry emphasized Kuwait’s unequivocal rejection of these cowardly attacks and their recurrence, noting that they pose a direct threat to the security of the region, the safety of civilians and civilian objects, and air navigation. It stressed the urgent need for an immediate halt to such hostile acts.
Reaffirming Kuwait’s absolute solidarity with and support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as its backing of all measures undertaken to safeguard the Kingdom’s sovereignty, security, and the protection of its citizens and residents, the ministry underscored that the security of Saudi Arabia is an integral part of Kuwait’s security and the security of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states.
The ministry also conveyed Kuwait’s sincere condolences and heartfelt sympathies to the leadership, government, and people of the brotherly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as to the families of the martyrs, while wishing the injured a swift recovery.
