Criminal security officers, represented by the General Directorate of Criminal Investigations, arrested suspects in two separate cases. The first case involved drug trafficking, while the second concerned operating unlicensed activities and possessing state-subsidized food supplies, as part of continuous security efforts to combat crime and apprehend lawbreakers.
In the first case, officers from the Al-Farwaniya Governorate Criminal Investigation Department (Sabah Al-Nasser Investigation Office) arrested a Sri Lankan national working as a driver in a private residence. This followed intelligence reports indicating that he was selling drugs in the Arad area. Investigations and a review of surveillance cameras revealed that he distributed the drugs while delivering furniture for his employer, exploiting his job to avoid suspicion. He was arrested in possession of bags containing methamphetamine. Following his cooperation and in coordination with the homeowner, additional quantities were found inside his room at the house where he worked. Financial transfers worth 6,573 Kuwaiti Dinars to individuals in Sri Lanka were also seized. The suspect confessed to possessing the seized substances with the intent to traffic and sell them, in collaboration with a person outside the country.
The seizures in this case included 469.1 grams of methamphetamine distributed in bags and wraps of various sizes, 0.7 grams of marijuana, a sensitive scale, a cash amount of 285.950 Kuwaiti Dinars, and financial transfers valued at 6,573 Kuwaiti Dinars.
In the second case, the Al-Ahmadi Governorate Criminal Investigation Department arrested a Bangladeshi national working at a gas station. Investigations confirmed the validity of information regarding his engagement in unlicensed activities. He was apprehended while exchanging and converting currencies for travelers without a license. A search of his residence uncovered state-subsidized food supplies. It was also revealed that he was selling cigarettes and printing papers and documents for travelers arriving in and departing from the country without obtaining the necessary permits from the competent authorities.
The total seizures in this case amounted to 1,067 Kuwaiti Dinars, 5,021 Saudi Riyals, 10 Qatari Riyals, and 8 Bahraini Dinars. The suspects and seized items were referred to the competent authorities to take the necessary legal actions against them.
