Dr. Rana Al-Faris, Chairperson of the Public Authority for Combating Corruption, affirmed the enhancement of cooperation and the leveraging of advanced experiences in combating corruption, with the “Saudi experience” being among the most prominent. She regarded it as an advanced and resolute model in oversight, investigation, inquiry, accountability, asset recovery, and the protection of public funds. This statement was made by Al-Faris during a visit by a delegation from “Nizahat” to the Anti-Corruption Authority in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as part of the memorandum of understanding signed between the two authorities in 2022.

She noted that the Saudi experience has achieved notable results in combating corruption, including the recovery of funds and assets, alongside the accumulation of institutional and practical expertise in pursuing corruption cases, strengthening oversight, and safeguarding public funds.

Al-Faris stated, “We look forward to benefiting from experiences that have proven their ability to deliver practical results in the fight against corruption, and to moving from identifying vulnerabilities and suspicions to more effective tools for detection, investigation, accountability, protection of public funds, and asset recovery.”

She added that “combating corruption does not stop at prevention and awareness; it requires an integrated system equipped with the necessary tools and capabilities for detection, investigation, inquiry, and accountability, alongside prevention and the promotion of integrity and transparency. This makes the exchange of expertise with peer bodies possessing advanced experience an essential component in developing institutional and technical capacities.”
